Ice Spice Turns the Heat Up in a Bandeau and Sheer Jacket

Is it getting hot in here or is it just Ice Spice? Last night, the Bronx-born rapper brought her edgy style to the iHeart Radio Music Awards, where she accepted the award for the Best New Hip-Hop Artist.

To mark the milestone, she opted for an all-black, figure-hugging set by Rick Owens. This consisted of a bodycon denim maxi skirt with a fit and flared mermaid silhouette, punctuated by a raw and almost feather-like hem that pooled around her feet. For the top half of her look, the rapper wore a skinny sheer black bandeau, which she layered underneath a sheer cropped zip-up jacket embroidered with geometric criss-crossing details. To accessorize, she added a black cross pendant necklace, black stud earrings, and a baby pink mani.

In an interview for Harper's Bazaar’s April 2023 issue, Ice Spice reflected on the evolution of her career since releasing her debut EP, Like..?, last year. “The response to my EP has been like a big warm hug from everybody that’s consuming the project,” she said. “I’m so proud of it and how fun it was to make, and I can tell that right now, this is an era I’m always going to cherish.”

She added, “I feel like I’m bringing a new sound to people that they haven’t really heard before, being one of the few girls to bring drill to a mainstream level. It’s refreshing and fun—I’m really enjoying it.”
